Once again, the party in power has shown how powerless it really is in the face of opposition from Republicans and some conservative and even so-called moderate Democrats.

After having dropped the public option in its health-care overhaul package, Senate Democrats have now caved in and have agreed to drop an alternative plan that would have allowed people from aged 55 to 64 who are without medical insurance to purchase Medicare.

Basically, one man stopped this entire thing. No, not Superman. But Connecticut man, Senator Joseph Lieberman ,who was against it.

Talk about true democracy at work!
