Practically kicking and screaming all the way, the Obama administration has apparently decided to bite the political bullet and investigate the way some terrorism suspect detainees were handled by the CIA and some of its operatives during the Bush years, better known as the years of the frozen Constitution.

The criminal probe is being ordered by Attorney General Eric Holder…the White House careful as ever to say that he will make the final decision on whether anyone ought to be prosecuted for abusing the detainees…a softer way of saying, torturing them!

A veteran prosecutor has been named to conduct the investigation.

Too bad the president…Mr. Hope…..is not exactly lending his vocal support to the matter. To the contrary, he still maintains it is better for the nation to look ahead and not back—the sort of thing someone caught robbing a bank might only wish authorities would consent to.

A now five year old report by the CIA’s very own inspector general just declassified under a court order, reveals for the first time some of the more brutal tactics our side employed against their side…like threatening one detainee, according to an Associated Press dispatch, with a “gun and power drill,” while another was choked repeatedly.

Despite all this, for some unfathomable reason, Obama’s administration reportedly plans on continuing the Bush policy of sending suspects off to other countries for “questioning”–a practice called rendition.  Oh, but the current president’s people claim they’ll make sure other countries don’t torture these folks.  Yeah, right!
