If it isn’t bad enough that the U.S. subprime mortgage debacle helped ignite a global financial meltdown, the President of the United States is apparently spreading his head cold germs from one world leader to the next as he shakes hand after hand at the economic summit now underway in London.

Barack Obama may be a super-star…may not even be mortal (to listen to some of his more manic and vocal supporters) but, alas, he seems to have come down with a rather pedestrian ailment that afflicts us all from time to time: a cold.

But while many would just stay home from work and rest, Obama is on the world-stage. So, cold or no cold, he is roaming about London meeting the Queen, the British Prime Minister, the Russian President, the Chinese President…and, of course, being the politician he is, shaking each and everyone’s hand.  Sure hope they have a bottle of one of those anti-bacterial cleaners around.

Of course, should Obama spread his germs to ,say, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, it could be the start of a very different cold war.
