Wasn’t Barack Obama supposed to be a “different” kind of politician? Different, God knows, from George W. at any rate?

So, why is it that he is doing things increasingly that I could swear he’s borrowed directly from the Bush Book of governing.

The latest example: The New York Times is reporting that Obama is thinking about “expanding the covert U.S. war in Pakistan” to go way beyond the tribal areas.

According to the paper, national security advisers have been busy bees preparing reports to the White House that will call for “broadening the target area to reach the Taliban and other insurgent groups.”

Let’s see…so Obama plans on leaving an undetermined number of so-called “non-combat” soldiers behind in Iraq till God knows when; he is bent on expanding our involvement in Afghanistan; and, now he apparently wants to launch an all out secret war within Pakistan.
