As Barack Obama makes somewhat clearer his goals for an economic stimulus package, he has put something else on the table that may make a lot of  folks start to worry: entitlement programs.

That is a fancy government way of saying Social Security and Medicare.

Because the deficit spending he is proposing would balloon the nation’s budget deficit into the trillion dollar plus mark, Obama is starting to talk about ways to pay for all this in the future.

And, he is pledging to rid the government of wastful spending, says a Reuters report, and to “look at ways to address costly entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare.”

And just how long do you think Obama’s honeymoon will last with Congress and the American people if he tries to do what no other president before has been able to–cutback spending on these two valued programs?
