The mess involving the apparently (okay, he is) crooked governor of Illinois is increasingly invading the till now surrealistically tranquil world of the Barack Obama transition phase.
In less than a week, we have gone from Obama insisting that neither he nor anyone on his team had improper contacts with the governor who was allegedly (okay, was) trying to literally sell Obama’s vacated Senate seat to the highest bidder, to this uneasy feeling that his newly appointed chief of staff as well as one of the sons of Jesse Jackson may have had some sort of contact with the governor that may raise the suspicion with some (me) that something, in fact, improper did go on.
Does anyone get the uneasy feeling that this is only going to get bigger and bigger? I do.
