John McCain is using the “S” word to strike fear into the hearts of voting Americans. He is comparing Barack Obama with European socialist leaders.

Says McCain at a rally, “Barack Obama’s tax plan would convert the (Internal Revenue Service) into a giant welfare agency, redistributing massive amounts of wealth at the direction of politicians in Washington,” Reuters quotes McCain as saying.

“At least in Europe, the socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives. They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Senator Obama,” McCain reportedly said.

Now wait a minute.  Obama may be lots of things, but a socialist?  I don’t think so!

And, besides, who just signed off on the biggest government intervention in our banking system since the Great Depression? (Socialization is another way to put it.)
