Are you ready for the Sarah Palin, Joe Biden Big Debate? How could you not be? Besides the financial crisis and what the Congress may or may not do, what else has been talked about as much in the news as the soon to be vice-presidential debate?

I spoke with someone today in Alaska who was the moderator for two of Palin’s debates when she ran for Governor of the frozen state. He ended up working for her, so is a self-proclaimed fan to be sure.

Still, his insights could be valuable.

He says Palin’s foes tend to underestimate her…that they tend to discount her charisma and formidable charm. Both, he told me,  can be used to conceal  a lack of knowledge of basic facts on subjects being debated.

He also pointed out that Palin, in her past debates in Alaska, pariticipated with two opponenets…meaning, while the other two could slug it out, she had time to give better thought to an answer.

That will not be the case with Joe Biden, of course. It is just Palin, Biden and, of course, the moderator.

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I would wager a bet that the Palin, Biden debate will be an enormous ratings success for both television and radio networks, not to mention fast paced political blogs.
