You can’t watch Sarah Palin’s interview with ABC’s Charles Gibson without feeling the slight bit sorry for her.

I know. You’re thinking: What is to feel sorry about? She was yanked like a fish from Alaskan waters by John McCain to be his running mate and is on a ticket that stands a fairly good chance (certainly better than before) of winning come November.

She clearly was pumped with prepared answers and stuck with them even in the face of challenges.

She clearly was not pumped with prepared answers to the question about the so-called Bush Doctrine which basically says–the U.S. can invade any country it pretty much damn pleases if it so much as thinks that country might someday present a threat to our national security interests.

You could see it in her eyes…she didn’t have a clue what Gibson was talking about….even after he finally explained it to her.

She is glib, attractive on television, interesting to watch and listen to, smart, and sooooooooo over her head on this that you are not human if you don’t bleed for her just a bit.

All this would be amusing if not for the possibility that she could actually end up as President of the United States in the not too distant future.

I love her claim that Americans don’t want someone with a rich resume (experience)–a concept, by the way, first advanced by Barack Obama who is now being upstaged by his own strategy.

Don’t let Palin’s smile fool you.

She is dangerous. She doesn’t know enough to be in the White House (I know, neither did Bush, and look where that got us?) and she doesn’t know that she doesn’t know enough. She thinks she does.

Anyone who says they weren’t even a little unsure of themselves when asked to run for vice-president is too scary to be elected to the second highest office in the land.

But what will it say about Americans, if they do?
