If being smart means knowing when to seek advice from others who may know more than you do, then Barack Obama is a smart man, indeed. He will meet with Bill Clinton, on the former president’s turf at his Harlem office building and will seek advice from Clinton on how to win against John McCain.
The Financial Times is reporting out of Washington that the meeting will be their first one face-to-face since Obama effectively captured his party’s nomination, defeating Hillary Clinton, back in June.
The FT points out that this meeting comes at a very specific time–a time when polls put John McCain solidly in the lead for the first time.
