It didn’t take long for the Russia-Georgia war to play an increasingly important role in the U.S. presidential elections.

Republican John McCain going out of his way to stress his experience to deal with the situation.

The clear message: He is ready to be president and Democrat Barack Obama is not.

In fact, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman said as much–”We’ve got a real clear choice to make. And I say it respectifully to Sen. Obama because he’s a gifted young man. But he’s not ready to be president,” says Lieberman, who is now an Indepedent and a backer of McCain for some time.

Obama has not been  forceful in trying to counter the image of him being painted by McCain…and he needs to make a strong argument why his experience level and judgment on such matters will be wiser and better than McCain’s.

So far, he hasn’t.
