Barack Obama “Super-Star?”

Maybe someday someone will write a rock opera similar to Jesus Christ Super Star and call it Barack Obama Super Star.
Obama’s Republican rival for the presidency doesn’t seem to want to wait for any out of town tryout-He’s already launched an ad campaign putting the spotlight on the star of the show.
The McCain ad calls Obama “the biggest celebrity in the world.”
But that is no compliment needless to day.
“Senator Obama doesn’t have the strength to speak openly and directly about how he will address the serious challenges that confront America…How will he be strong enough to really change Washington?” McCain asks.
To a large degree, Obama fell right into this one by going on his presidential style European and Middle Eastern tour where he was generally received and treated like one of the Rolling Stones.
Obama, for his part, told a gathering of news people in Missouri “I don’t pay attention to John McCain’s ads, although I do notice he doesn’t seem to have anything very positive to say about himself. He seems to only be talking about me,” Reuters quotes Obama as saying.
But isn’t that the idea? To have everyone talk about Obama! Not his ideas or campaign promises, but about Obama the personality? Obama the performer? Obama, the Super-Star?
