“Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help you, God?”

It is starting to look as if it might be a good idea to make Barack Obama take a legal oath before he makes speeches while running for the presidency.

He and his campaign aides have taken John McCain to task–and rightly so in some cases–for getting certain facts wrong about Iraq and Afghanistan and Pakistan.

But how does Obama explain a speech he just gave while on his overseas magical mystery tour where he boasts about the passage of legislation he favors by what he refers to as “my committee”–speaking of the Senate Banking Committee.

Nothing wrong with patting oneself on the back for a job well done–God knows, one couldn’t be a politician without being able to do that daily.

But there is one big catch: Barack Obama is NOT on the Banking Committee and never has been. And yet, by referring to it as “my committee,” he indicates that he is, at least, on the panel, and, at most, chairperson of it.

Is that somewhat—how shall I put this—curious?
