1 Million Cases On U.S. Terrorism List; Does Barack Obama Have A Sense Of Humor?

by mikeTalk about reaching a milestone–the U.S. watch list of those suspected of being terrorists now tops 1 million cases representing some 400,000 people. If there really were 400,000 terrorists in the world, the world would have blown up a long time ago.

This is utter nonsense and the American Civil Liberties Union is correct when it argues that “America’s new million-record watch list is a perfect symbol for what’s wrong with this administration’s approach to security: it’s unfair, out-of-control, a waste of resources (and) treats the rights of the innocent as an after thought.”

The list is used for , among other things, deciding who can and can’t board commercial airline flights.

There are frequent screw-ups with the list–especially names that sound or look alike.

A spokesman for the TSA, according to Reuters, says the so-called “no-fly” list was “scrubbed” a year ago leaving fewer names on its list.

Can Barack Obama laugh?

That seems like a fair question in light of the controversy over the New Yorker cover this week that is a total satire on all of the fear tactics being used against Obama.

It is easy to see why the cover would ignite a storm among political opportunists and stupid people far too dumb to understand what a satire is all about.

On the cover illustration, Obama is clad in a turban and robes and his wife in military fatigues carrying a machine gun.

The setting is the Oval Office with a picture of Osama bin Laden hanging on the wall. An American flag is burning in the fireplace.

Obama is not exactly known for a keen sense of humor. In fact, it sometimes seems as if he has none.

Certainly many of his die-hard supporters do not. Anything that might get in the way of an Obama coronation this November is derided by people who will not even consider another point of view. As far as they are concerned, it is Obama’s way, or the highway!

Obama has helped establish a cult of personality around his candidacy for the presidency, and cults usually are not exactly open to criticism….which makes them dangerous!
