It may come down to age vs. race in the historic presidential election now shifting into higher gear.
A new Reuters report reveals Barack Obama’s race may get in the way of his moving into the Whiite House–”Americans say in both interviews and a poll showing that nearly a third of them acknowledge feeling racial prejudice.”
The poll was taken by the Washington Post and ABC News and showed “race relations in the United States were improving but problems persist.”
How old?
But this doesn’t mean that Republican John McCain is going to get a free ride. Soon to turn 72, if elected, he would be the oldest first term President that voters actually selected at the ballot box.
So, what may be shaping up, is the great irony of this entire race–that voters may vote based on their prejudices about both age and race.
Perhaps it should have been expected considering how the spotlight has been thrown on race, gender and age in this one of a kind presidential election?
