The Transformation of Barack Obama: His Secret World

Boy, that was fast!  The transformation of Barack Obama that is.  The candidate of change who claimed he was going to practice a different kind of politics, a more open, transparent kind of politics, is starting to behave a lot like a certain Republican Vice-President whose name we shall not mention.

According to a New York Times story out today, Obama and his campaign are showing some very troubling signs…signs that seem to contradict his assertions of being a new breed of post-partisan politician.

The paper reports that recently, Obama refused to provide the news media with the names of religious leaders he was meeting with and even instructed them to avoid the press.  He also refused permission for cameras to be present when he met with African-American civic leaders. And, we all know about that episode a few weeks back when Obama tricked the press corps into flying back to Chicago without him while he had a secret meeting with Hillary Clinton.

Just like them all

The sad truth that seems to be emerging is that Obama is, alas, really no different from any other presidential candidate, Democrat or Republican.  If only he would admit this and move on perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad. But he and his supporters cling to the fantasy that he is somehow different, almost cult-like, and that he rises above mere mortal politics.

Nonsense.

What the secret world of Barack Obama is revealing is that he very much lives in the political world that everyone else does….for better or worse.
