Hillary Clinton: The Long And Winding Road; Plans To Withdraw

By the accounts of several news organizations, Hillary Clinton ,Friday, will end her bid for the Democratic Party presidential nomination and endorse Barack Obama for President.
Some accounts say she will keep her campaign technically alive, but that would be strictly to help in raising money to help retire her campaign debt said to be around $22 million.
There is also speculation whether come Friday, Clinton will share a stage with Obama in a show of party unity, or do a solo act waiting till sometime next week to stage a joint appearance?
Doesn’t really matter much one way or the other.
No matter how you slice it, Clinton is out and Obama is in, surely the biggest surprise of Hillary’s political life–well, except maybe Monica?
United they stand; divided they fall?
So many different theories floating around about what happens next with Hillary.
Will Obama ask her to be on his ticket? Some say he would show weakness doing that; others say he would show strength and a recognition that he may just need Clinton to win the big industrial states he lost during the primaries but needs to win to get elected President.
If not Hillary, who?
Does he pick another woman, from Congress, perhaps, or a state governor?
If he does that, is Hillary left out in the cold?
Probably not.
He can always offer her Secretary of State which, after all, would play to her strength: being more experienced on the international stage than Obama is.
Or, he could back her to be Senate majority leader; though that would probably not sit well with the current Senate majority leader.
Of course, Clinton is not exactly out of work. She remains the junior senator from New York and could take Ted Kennedy as an example of someone who tried and failed to win the White House, but whose legacy in the Senate is probably greater than he could have achieved as President of the United States.
The long and winding road for Hillary has not come up against a brick wall, just a door that needs to be opened.
