Well, I did say a while ago that Obama would probably become the Democratic party presidential nominee by June 4th, the day after the last primary. And, based on what he says today, it looks as if that prediction may come true.

Obama is now saying he fully expects to become the nominee next week–something that probably will not sit all that well with Hillary Clinton!

Nontheless, Obamaman is moving ahead as if he was already nominated by also announcing he just may drop in on Iraq soon.

Big Saturday

As Obama correctly pointed out today, Saturday is likely to be a historic day for the Democratic party and the nation: That is when Democratic party big-wigs gather to work out some sort of compromise on the thorny issue of seating–or not seating–the Michigan and Florida delegations.

According to Reuters, Obama said, “At that point all the information will be in. There will be no more questions unanswered. I suspect that whatever remaining superdelegates will be able to make their decisions quickly after that.”

Does anyone doubt at this point that that decision will be to support Obama?
