Half Man, Half Tree! Getting To The Root Of The “Tree Man” Of Java

by Charles Feldman on April 15, 2008

The jokes about this story are practically endless. Should you think of one, go ahead and email it or post it as a comment. The story is rooted (told you) in what is being presented as a true life story by the British newspaper Telegraph.

The papers says the Tree Man is hoping to marry after the weird warts are removed from his body—marry, or transplant??

I think it’s sort of awesome, but I hope that he gets better.

I also think that “JANE SMITH” is a dick, and has no humanitarian sense.

I think Dede is amazing. I’ve seen programs on him, and he’s just so humble despite what he’s going through. He will always have my support. He’ll always be a hero of mine.

This man is the bravest man i have seen!

If i was in his shoes i would never go on t.v. and talk to people about his condition.

I feel bad for him because he can’t provide for his family, but not to sound mean or anything, i think it would be a good idea to sell the bark from his skin.

I mean he would get money for it, and i know TONS of people that would buy it.

Well, i will be praying for him, and i hope i didn’t offend him or anyone.

What on earth is this blog all about? It reads like an invitation to ridicule someone who has a terrible affliction, which in itself is shameful. Or is Mr. Feldman insinuating that the story is somehow false? Either way, I would invite him to clarify for the sake of good writing if nothing else. Unless that is inconsistent with his “no-holds bar approach to everything” of course. (“no holds BARRED” – etymological origins in early professional wrestling)

You’re a disgusting human being. Inviting jokes to popularize your blog is pathetic. By the looks of your picture, you shouldn’t be one to criticize.

Jane Smith’s comment and view of life is worse than his appearance.

You have to admit that he is taking the phrase “family tree” a little too far!!!

There is no cure for this because it is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder. It is not a disease. What they’re looking for is a better treatment option, which will be more sustainable. So there is no point on wishing for a cure instead donate money to public or private hospitals that fund research. Otherwise you’re really no good than the morons who like to laugh at this guy. You saw it, now you know it exists, now do something about.

I honestly cannot believe you would provoke someone making fun of this man. He has a horrid disease bestowed upon him and is a very strong and humble individual for carrying himself with positve aspect. I will pray for ‘you’ and this man. I hope he gets better and is able to experience normality at some point in his life.
