Happy mother’s/father’s day? For one soon to be born Oregon child, deciding which card to buy may someday prove a difficult decision. That’s because the child’s “mother” will also be its “father” although its “father” is now also its “mother” although its “mother” will be its father after it is born and will be brought up by its “father-turned-mother-turned father” and its “mother” who is the wife of its “mother-turned father.”

If you think you’re confused, pity the poor kid.

Here’s the story–which could only come via–whom-else? Oprah!

A transgender man is now six months pregnant and was interviewed today by Oprah Winfrey. According to the Reuters story, the man, Thomas Beatie, sporting a beard, told Oprah he always wanted a child and that this is a “miracle.”

“No man of woman born”—Macbeth??? Right?Beatie was born a woman, but decided to bale and become a man a decade back. While he apparently took all the treatments needed, he decided to keep his/her reproductive organs.

He is now married to a woman who told Oprah she inseminated Beatie with a syringe “using sperm purchased from a bank.” Guess that’s one bank not affected by the subprime mortgage crisis?

Doc calls pregnancy “normal”

Yes, that is what the doctor says. And, apparently healthy,too.

Never one to miss an opportunity to try and sound profound, Oprah is quoted as saying that this is “a new definition of what diversity means for everybody.”

That’s why she makes the big bucks!
