Barack Obama Goes Soft, Says New Poll, Hillary Clinton Gets Stronger

Now what?
This Democratic presidential campaign gets stranger and stranger.
Just last week, a poll came out saying that Barack Obama was pulling ahead of Hillary Clinton in national polls by a good margin–making it that much more difficult for Clinton to claim that the so-called superdelegates ought to back her for the nomination rather than Obama.
But today, a New York Times/CBS News polls seems to show that Obama’s support among Democrats has “softened” considerably over just the last month, says Reuters.
“Obama’s favorability rating among Democratic primary voters dropped 7 percentage points to 62 percent since the last survey in late February,” Reuters quotes the Times as reporting.
“The decline has been mostly among men and upper-income voters.”
That is potentially serious for Obama who ,up till now, enjoyed much support from these two groups.
The poll looked at a contest between Obama and Republican John McCain and Clinton and McCain. Obama beats McCain 47 percent to 42 percent…but, Clinton beats McCain 48 percent to 43 percent.
Like I said: Now what?
