Obama-Gore Ticket? Al Gore U.S. Supreme Court Justice? What Deal Is Being Made?

Al Gore is not normally the strong, silent type. But, his lips have been sealed–at least publicly- on whether he will support Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.
But, in politics, one has to always read between the lines-in fact, even between the letters.
Obama today told the world that he has regular discussions with Gore about a variety of issues. No shocker there.
But, when Obama added that he would consider Gore for a Cabinet-level position or higher, the clear signs of a possible deal started to emerge.
Vice President Gore-Take Two?
The only thing higher than a Cabinet post would be Vice-President. But, it is hard to imagine Gore wanting to be number two again; especially since he actually got elected once by popular vote for the number one spot.
Besides, my bet is Obama already made a deal with New Mexico Gov. Richardson for the VP spot on an Obama ticket in exchange for Richardson turning his back on his old pal Hillary Clinton.
Supreme Court?
Of course, Gore can be offered Secretary of State if he agrees to endorse Obama over Clinton…but, more likely, a deal could be made that Gore would be nominated to the first U.S. Supreme Court seat that becomes vacant, allowing him to ex-cert a greater role in the shaping of America in the 21st century than he would probably do as either President or Vice President.
