More troubling news about Barack Obama’s church and its former controversial paster, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
According to Reuters, Baptist Messenger, a Christian publication, is reporting that the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, “published a pro-Hamas, anti-Israel opinion article in a church bulletin in July.” It was a reprint of a newspaper article.
Says Reuters, “In the article, an official from the Palestinian group Hamas defended the group’s refusal to recognize Israel’s right to exist.”
The U.S. government lists Hamas as a terrorist organization.
And, that piece was, according to Baptist Messenger, “posted on Wright’s ‘Pastor’s Page.’”
Asked about this new info, Obama was quoted as saying that Wright made some “troubling statements and some appalling statements that I have condemned.”
Yes, but that still doesn’t really answer the question: Why did Obama attend such a church for some twenty years?
