This needs to be explained:
More reports about how Sen. Barack Obama managed to earmark a large sum of money for the Chicago hospital that employs his wife in a high, executive position.
Says National Review On-Line : “$1 Million was requested for the construction of a new hospital pavilion at the University of Chicago. The request (by Sen. Obama) was put in in 2006.”
So happens that Michelle Obama is vice-president of community affairs at the University of Chicago Hospital.
More suspicious is this: The Chicago Tribune reported, says the NRO posting, that “Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital…jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate ,to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office.”
Any connection here between her raise and her husband earmarking a large sum of money to the place that is her employer?
