U.S. Economy In Intensive Care-What Will Hillary Clinton Or Barack Obama Do?

Open letter to Hillary and Barack: Stop this nonsense about race, gender, superdelegates, pledged delegates, dream tickets, nightmare 3am phone calls–etc. Want to “change” things? Start REALLY addressing these threatening economic issues that seemingly get bleaker with each passing day.

Today alone, the following:

Retail sales took a nose dive last month by 0.6 percent, dropping faster than an overloaded 757 filled with 250 fat people.

And, know what, Hillary and Barack, what makes this so troubling is that the “experts” actually thought there would have been a 0.2 percent INCREASE last month!

Sales of cars-Down.

Sales of furniture-Down.

Sales of appliances-Down.

Sales of homes-So far Down it isn’t funny.

And credit? Well, Hillary, you can probably get a good line of credit between your Senate salary and husband Bill’s income; Barack, well, you have that indicted Chicago real estate pal of yours who could probably help you get a new Visa if you wanted one.

But, for the average Joe and Jane- no such luck. Crunch, crunch, crunch–is the sound of credit. Crunch, crunch ,crunch.

$50 a gallon gas?

Not that high yet, but give it time.

Hillary and Barack, have you taken note of the fact that both gas and oil prices reached new highs today after reaching new highs yesterday and the day before and the day before and the day before and the day before?

Overnight–yes, Hillary and Barack, I said, Overnight, gas prices at the pump shot up 2.1 cents bringing the national average to $3.267 a gallon and every forecast except maybe President Bush’s, indicate nothing but hefty gas price increases for some time to come.

Light sweet crude up 41 cents–setting a new record of $110.33 a barrel.

There’s gold in them there hills!

Yes, and that gold is now at a new milestone, Hillary and Barack, $1,000 an ounce

Why?

Well, Hillary and Barack, you are both smart enough to know…the dollar may soon be interchangeable with toilet paper. It’s clout sinking around the globe. And, there are predictions today that it may be years before the dollar recovers its value.

No one wants the U.S. dollar!

So, Hillary and Barack–these are the things Americans really care about; these are the issues you both need to offer solutions for; these are the reality checks that should bring all politicians, including you guys, back down to earth so that some plan of economic action can be formulated.

If not, Hillary and Barack–and John, too–it won’t much matter which one of you  becomes President. Your first official action will no doubt be a fire sale at the White House.
