Clinton & Obama Duck Stand On Gov. Spitzer: Is This Courage?

Time to take both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to task for trying to distance themselves from the scandal involving New York Governor Eliot Spitzer and a Washington, D.C., based prostitution ring.
Spitzer, after all, is–was–a top Democratic party leader and possible presidential candidate in the future.
The two current Democratic contenders should say publicly what they think of the whole mess and whether they think Spitzer ought to resign for the public good, as many New Yorkers are recommending.
But, instead, the two rival to become commander-in-chief seem to have a case of cold feet when it comes to the Spitzer affair.
In this case, when the phone rang at 3am, neither one of them picked it up!
The decline of the Obama Man; The non-position of the former First Lady
Barack Obama, who has a history in both the U.S. Senate and his own state legislature before that, of avoiding taking a stand on tough issues and not being around when it came time to vote on pending controversial legislation, simply declined to comment on the Spitzer scandal. There’s balls for you.
Clinton was little better. She is, after all, the Senator from New York State . She just said that she sent him her “best wishes and thoughts” and told reporters she would “wait and see how things develop.” Wow, bold leadership on that one!
Clinton and Obama spent their day continuing to argue over campaign tactics…enough of that one. As leaders of their party, the same party that Eliot Spitzer belongs to, they have an obligation to speak out and not shut down.
