Who wants to start the stopwatch counting down how long it will be till New York Governor Eliot Spitzer resigns?
Will it be days, weeks—seconds???
The New York Times reports that Spitzer “has been caught on a federal wiretap arranging to meet with a high-priced prostitute at a Washington hotel last month, according to a person briefed on the federal investigation”
The Governor held a news conference once the news hit the Times’s web site. He apologized for “his behavior” which he went on to say is a “private matter” involving just he and his family.
He never acknowledge the specifics in the Times report, however.
Client 9
The Times report says that Spitzer is the man called “Client 9″ in court papers…an alleged client of a high society prostitution ring that was under federal investigation.
Okay. Get your stopwatches out and let’s see how long till resignation day. Ready! Set! Go!

1The Beatles foresaw this. I recommend the call-me-pisher defense.

3Yes, it would work. Stand tall, admit you like sex, and move on. But my real question is this: If the governor of New York is number nine, who is number one!?
