Obama Says No Vice-Presidency In His Future–Sort Of

You gotta just love politics where people say what they don’t mean and don’t say what they do mean. Or is it the other way around?
Barack Obama today dismissed notions of a joint ticket with Hillary Clinton in the top spot.
Clinton herself has speculated on this possibility.
“I don’t know how somebody who is in second place is offering the vice-presidency to somebody who is in first place,” Obama says.
Of course, what he didn’t say is that when Florida and Michigan are included in the count–which so far they have not been– Clinton would have beat Obama in delegates and the popular vote. But, it looks like there will be some sort of make-up contest in both states, so the final tabulation must await .
But, did he say “NO?”
No, he didn’t actually say “no” to the possibility he would run as the number two on a Clinton-Obama ticket. He made fun of the idea. But, at the end of the day, he didn’t actually say , in no uncertain terms, no!
History is filled with presidents and vice-president who didn’t really like one another…
Roosevelt was no fan of Harry Truman; Eisenhower was no fan of Richard Nixon; Kennedy was no fan of Johnson; Nixon was no fan of anyone….see what I mean!
