American Airlines has apparently discovered a pretty neat way to make seats available on its planes: killing passengers!
According to an Associated Press report today, a passenger on board an American Airlines jet Friday from Haiti to JFK, died after twice being refused the use of emergency oxygen by a flight attendant after complaining she could not breathe.
Then, when an attendant finally agreed to help the now dying woman, not one but two oxygen tanks turned out to be empty!!!!!
The passenger’s last words were reportedly: “Don’t let me die.”
Well, American did let her die it would seem, though it upgraded her to the first class cabin where her body was dumped on the floor covered with a blanket. (I think American charges an extra five bucks for blankets now, but I could be wrong?)
American is the largest domestic airline and by far one of the worst. I stopped flying it a long time ago when I discovered the morning breakfast muffins served did not dissolve in water.
The flight in question did divert to Miami, but the woman died before it got there.
Think American charged her family for stopping off at an extra city?
The flight attendant who allegedly refused to give the woman oxygen should be shot…but only after being forced to ride in coach on an American Airlines trans-Atlantic flight.
Failing that, the attendant ought to be prosecuted for criminal homicide. Let’s find out the name of this rotten apple and feed it to the nearest district attorney with jurisdiction in the case.
An American Airlines spokeswoman would not comment about the empty tanks, says the A.P. If true, that spokeswoman should be fired….out of a jet.
Oh well. There’s American Airlines for you. How did that old jingle go: “Doing what we do best!”

Amnerican Airlines travel without them. This is an inexcusable crime. I agree the FA should be immediately terminated. Where was his/her medical and or emergency training? What if there were a terrorist attack how would this idiot react? Denying someone oxygen when there is a life threatening emergency is inhumane and shows no level of compassion. Did the drop down oxygen masks work or are they faulty too? This is ridiculous.
Not to mention this stew is probably on board to look for a husband or a free ride. Obviously, she/he has no brains. Typcial AA stew.
