Here’s an odd combo if ever there was one: John McCain and Fidel Castro. Yes, THAT Castro!
Seems the Cuban dictator is accusing McCain of lying when he says that Cubans tortured American POWs in Vietnam during the war there.
Cuba and North Vietnam were allies at the time of the Vietnam War and it has long been reported that Cuban “experts” on torture were exported to North Vietnam to assist in the punishments handed out to American prisoners.
McCain, of course, was a Navy Pilot who was shot down in 1967 and tortured for more than five years,he says.
For his part, Castro says in an article just published, that McCain’s “…accusation against the Cuban revolutionaries…are completely unethical.”
McCain responded by saying it is beneath him to even respond to Castro; though he did.
“It’s a matter of record and you can ask several of the POWs who had direct contact with some, some thug that came to Hanoi with an underling assistant.”
