The battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama makes you want to return to the days of the cigar smoking party bosses. It may have been ugly, but they got the job done a lot quicker than the nonsensical primary system we are now being assaulted by.

And,the bosses didn’t do such a bad job of it,either:They gave us F.D.R and J.F.K. Think our current way of picking party nominees would produce any stronger candidates then them? Doubt it.

MONEY-THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL

Even rich candidates under our current system can go bankrupt trying to get nominated, let alone elected president.

Hillary Clinton is loaning her own campaign $5 million of her own money just to keep up with Obama, or so she says? Perhaps this is a move to convince long time supporters who have already opened their check books to open them again and give her a virtual blank check?

If this campaign goes on much longer, and it will, of course, it will seem as never ending as the Iraq war!

THE SPIN

The spinsters are out in force for both Obama and Clinton–She won more bigger states; he got won more delegates. She got more of the popular vote; he racked up more states…and on and on and on.

In the very early days of the Republic, the runner up in the presidential contest would simply become Vice-President. That way, voters –all voters pretty much–get what they want.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to have such a system today? It might end up being Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton but , along with Bill, that way you’d get three for the vote for one!
