Barack Obama Lies About Legislative Record:Backed Nuclear Industry But Claims He Didn’t!

You know that candidate of “change”–you know, this fellow named Barack Obama who promises a new kind of politics, a new way of doing business in Washington, a new approach to business as usual?
Well, forget about that Obama. The real Obama turns out to be a liar. Yeah, so are most other politicians; but they don’t walk around saying how different they are.
Remember how Gary Hart was done in after he challenged reporters to prove he was having an affair; and then , they did!
Well, the New York Times today pretty much does the same thing with Obama.
Obama, whose ears apparently grow larger with each lie he tells, has boasted during the campaign how he stood up to the Exelon Corporation in his home state of Illinois when it was learned it failed to tell the public about radioactive leaks at one of the nuclear power plants it owns.
Obama claimed, according to records unearthed by the Times, that he introduced and helped get passed legislation to make it mandatory for even small leaks to be reported quickly to state and local authorities.
“…the only nuclear legislation that I’ve passed,” Obama told voters in Iowa,according to the Times.
The problem is, it happens not to be true!
In fact, according to the Times account, Obama eventually caved to special interest groups and Republicans in Congress and signed off on legislation much ,much weaker than what he says he got passed–legislation favored by Exelon and the nuclear industry.
Oh, and one more thing: Turns out that even THAT legislation didn’t actually pass and become law.
So, Obama, the candidate of “change” lied about two things: his support for legislation to help police the nuclear power plant industry and his ability to pass legislation–comments he obviously made to prove he was just as experienced as Hillary Clinton at such things.
If Obama has to make stuff up to get elected, one wonders what he will do once in the Oval Office?
Would he make up that some nation has weapons of mass destruction as a pretext to invade it?
Would he make up that the U.S. doesn’t actually torture people in secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe ?
Would he make up that he supports legislation while signing statements saying he won’t actually enforce it?
Would he make up that the economy is doing well when statistics show it is not?
Well, why wouldn’t he? Bush did and got away with it.
But, of course, Obama is about change, about doing things differently, about going down a new road.
The YouTube generation in particular seems to be swallowing this whole.
Wake up! Read the speeches he gives instead of watching stupid three minute clips on the Internet.
Fact: Obama, by his own admission, was a regular cocaine user in college, which means the money he spent buying the drugs went to support vicious cartels that kill innocent men, women and children in Mexico and throughout South America.
Fact: Obama managed to not realize he had hundreds of dollars of unpaid parking tickets–an amount that would have gotten most people arrested–until he decided to run for President and then paid them off.
Fact: Obama has downplayed his relationship with a shifty Chicago real estate developer who helped get Obama and his wife a nice,new house at the same time he was contributing to Obama’s campaign for state-wide office.
Fact: Obama makes stuff up about his legislative record because he hardly has one–he either was not present for votes on important issues or, if present,opted not to cast a vote one way or the other.
Fact: And now, according to the New York Times story today, Obama even lies about his relationship with the nuclear power industry.
Again, that Obama, a politician, is a liar is, in and of itself, no big deal or even newsworthy. They all do it…Hillary included!
But, where Obama is different is his insistence that he is different and a candidate of true change.

Actually, your purple headline is misleading.
Obama openly supports nuclear power and as I recall was the only Democrat with the guts to say so in the Dem debates. I guess you “don’t listen too good” either.
In that debate he opposed using Yucca Mountain as a repository for nuclear waste.
The NY Times article states in the article you refer to that in response to a leak of radiioactive water: “Mr. Obama scolded Exelon and federal regulators for inaction and introduced a bill to require all plant owners to notify state and local authorities immediately of even small leaks.”
This legislation was apparently stymied by the Nuclear Power Industry and died in the Senate.
The entire issue of the NYT article was wether or not a bleary eyed Obama mistated that that legislation had actually passed.

actually, it would help if you learned to read. The Times article is about how he lied when he told potential voters that he had legislation passed on this issue when he didn’t. Had nothing to do with him being tired.
Also, the point of the article was that he talked big about curtailing the nuclear power industry but then caved when the going got rough and backed a much much weaker bill that ended up not passing anyway.
You know, the one he claimed did pass!

I wouldn’t vote for Barack Obama if he were the last candidate on earth. If he is the nominee, this will be the first time I vote for a Republican President. Yes, I already know what that will bring us. You don’t have to remind me. In case you think I am racist, I voted for Jesse Jackson in the 88 primaries, but go ahead and think what you want. Obama is the one who is racist, as well as deceitful (his voting record runs counter to his rhetoric). Has anyone googled Barack Obama’s church? Asians, whites, Native Americans, and Hispanics would not be welcome. It is an “unashamedly black” church, which supports the idea of only helping black businesses and individuals. So no wonder the Obama campaign dug through the rubble to try to say the Clintons were racist. What exactly did they say that was racist? And Michelle Obama is not for Democratic party unity. She said she would have to “think about” whether to support Hillary if she were the nominee. Look for it on Youtube. If you haven’t, then you are buying the rhetoric of Obama without researching him. He is not for you if you are Asian or white or Hispanic or Native. He is actually not even for you if you are black. He is for HIMSELF. But, go ahead. Nominate him. If he thinks the Clintons were tough, wait till he is nominated. Does he think the Republicans are going to be nicer to him than the Clintons? I am just wondering whether this guy thinks the needs to campaign against the Republicans. He used the race card, and instigated unrest in this country and plans to instigate riots if necessary so he can get the job he wants, and the money. I agree: I would not vote for Obama if he was the last candidate on earth. On a scale from 10 to 1, ten being the most integrity and 1 being the least amount of integrity, Obama scores -1 on my score card.
I am giving him a benefit of doubt for being arrogant and naive at the same time.

Clearly, all of you who think Obama has a bad track record or is a liar don’t get your information from reputable sources. You are not informed or educated and are being fooled by extremist manipulators who only have their own personal interests at heart. If you think for one second that any of the people that slam Obama care about you or this country, please DON’T vote… you’ll get us into worse trouble than those who voted for Bush.
