Are the Ratso’s deserting a sinking ship? Perhaps. John Rizzo had been nominated by the moron in the White House to be the CIA’s top lawyer. Only Rizzo decided he was too controversial so sent a letter to the Prez saying he was going to bail. Since no one bails on George W. Bush, the White House was lightening fast in saying it had wihtdrawn his nomination.

Rizzo already was on the shit list of a fair number of senators. This June, he told a Senate committee that,yes,he was the one who authored a legal opinion saying that CIA practices while “questioning” detainees are legal and were in line with international treaties against torture.  Guess it depends which treaty you happen to be looking at?

Human rights groups wrote the Senate intelligence (yeah,right!)committee saying that confirming Rizzo would–and I quote–”send an extraordinarily negative message to the world!”   Wow….the whole freaking world! Imagine that.
