Iraq War & Bush: Slowly They Turn,Step By Step…….
by Charles Feldman on August 23, 2007
Probably not lots of fun being President Bush today. Of course, I don’t really care. But, it’s sort of fun counting the ways being him right about now is probably not exactly a bundle of joy.
On the same day that an intelligence report doubts Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki can maintain what passes for “leadership” in Iraq,a GOP bigwig,Sen. John Warner of Virginia,is calling upon the dope in the White House to start yanking U.S. troops out of Iraq.
Says Warner,”We simply cannot, as a nation, stand and put our troops at continuous risk of loss of life and limb without beginning to take some decisive action which will get their attention.”
Granted, Warner’s plan is not much of one-withdrawing about 5 thousand troops by Christmas out of 160 thousand troops currently in Iraq. Still, it is a start and, more to the point, a slap of reality on Bush’s face.
As for that report, it says it is not likely that Maliki will be able to end the sectarian divisions in Iraq which is sort of what the war there is all about, isn’t it?
